1x The Lane Vineyard Chardonnay 2024
White — Chardonnay
Adelaide Hills — Australia
Fresh and refreshing, this one's all about vibrancy. Dangerously easy to drink, if the mercury threatens even 20 degrees, you'll be reaching for this beauty.
This producer doesn’t mess around when it comes to chardonnay. This bright, fruit-forward number is representative of the modern Adelaide Hills style. Grapefruit, peach and nectarine leap out of the glass whilst regional gun-smoke characters and pristine natural acid add some complexity. A great summer chardy, on the lighter side, refreshing, zippy, zesty and absolutely begging for a hot day. This isn’t your old-school, flabby, overly-oaked chard, this is modern, this is thirst quenching, this is delicious.
You’d pay $30 full price.

1x Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition Chardonnay 2024
White — Chardonnay
McLaren Vale — Australia
We don’t need to tell you about Pirramimma, do we? By now if you’re a regular of Vinomofo, we’re betting that you’ve tried a drop or two from this legendary winery. To say their red wines have been fan favourites would be to severely understate the cult following of this brand. Yes mofo, their white wines are truly as iconic as their reds. This is as abundant as you might expect (or crave), abound with notes of toast, crème brûlée, hazelnut and ripe peaches. If chardonnay is a red wine lover’s white, then this has got to be the one.
You’d pay $50 full price.

1x Coombe Yarra Valley Estate Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Yarra Valley — Australia
Unmistakably Yarra Valley, fresh and fragrant fruit with an underlying seriousness brought on by thoughtful winemaking and high quality French oak barrels. An intensely varietal and regional chardy that demands respect and deserves it too. This iconic producer pride themselves on the chardonnay they let out into the world, they take real care with this wine from go to whoa. From the first budding in the vineyard to the final bottling in the winery 10 months later, this has been watched over and genuinely looked after. The final result is a generous yet elegant wine giving white peach, lemon curd and even a touch of fresh cream. The concentrated palate has a savoury nuttiness, typical for the Yarra, and a wonderful texture building to a seriously classy finish. Oysters anyone?

1x Ghost Rock Estate Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Tasmania — Australia
This is the work of a small, boutique producer with a cult following. Some malo work gives richness and fullness to what is otherwise a focused, piercing iteration of Australia's favourite grape: chardonnay. Green apple and pear initially, with focused, laser-like citrus acidity that races up the centre of the palate. Some nutty, mealy, biscuity savoury notes chime in just after and offer another dimension to the wine. This is a beautiful expression of fruit - lifted and aromatic and tantalisingly refreshing. Seriously limited wine from an already small producer - get in quick or miss out.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Byron & Harold Gravity White Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Margaret River — Australia
Wine Pilot's Ken Gargett is expecting 'an exciting future' from this Margs chardy, if you have the self-restraint not to drink it all now that is, telling us to 'enjoy over the next four to six years and expect the score to rise in the next few years'. Right now, though, this is citrusy, creamy, tropical, and floral - a winning combination for us.
You’d pay $32 full price.

1x Moss Brothers Field of Dreams Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Margaret River — Australia
This is a great example of letting the grape variety shine and it took some real care in the vineyard and the winery to accomplish. Picked in the cool of the early morning hours then racked to tank with some solids added for fermentation. The juice is separated with the majority placed in French oak to ferment and the rest kept to committed to tank. Post fermentation, bâtonnage is introduced to bring an extra textural element and build flavour. The result is a quintessential Margaret River chardonnay with richness, complexity and a lengthy, but not flabby, finish.
