Why do we love this case?
We’ve gathered some golden grape goodness from some of the best riesling academies to get your mind and palate ticking. These are compelling wines that champion fruit purity, piercing acidity, florality, mineral complexity, and so much more. There's a reason why if you ask any somm the world over 'what are your favourite grape varietals?' the answer will invariably include 'riesling.'
1x Crabtree Pomona Riesling 2024
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Riesling is an under-rated chameleon, and this is a rare find. When the new vintage talks come up for the Crabtree Pomona riesling, I pounce on everything we can get. We’re almost at the point of licking the bottle just to get every last drop. There’s hints of orange peel and jasmine underlying the preserved lemon and lime freshness. Heaps of that roaring acid. Fresh, dry, and perfect to quench your thirst on a warm day.
You’d pay $40 full price.

1x Bellarmine Dry Riesling 2010
White — Riesling
Pemberton — Australia
Halliday sweethearts Bellarmine have done it again. A vibrant, yet developed, riz with gorgeous acid and a seriously long finish. This wine reminds us all why we love aged riesling and is thoroughly deserving of 94pts from the big guy himself. Complexity and balance. That's what this aged wonder is all about. There's plenty of development, particularly apparent on the nose with beeswax, honied nuts, lanolin and preserved lime. A great start, but it's the palate where the quality of this wine becomes obvious, a beautifully bright acid line runs from start to finish and highlights the primary flavours of citrus and under-ripe stone fruit. A slightly mineralic and slightly waxy texture bring together all the flavours perfectly and carries through to an impressively lengthy finish. We love a good aged riesling.
You’d pay $35 full price.

1x Pikes 'Traditionale' Riesling 2024
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Your next riesling need not be introduced. This is Pikes, one of the most adored Clare Valley wineries and possibly the most identifiable wine in Australia - and for good reason.
Pikes have been a household name since their days manufacturing beer and soft drinks, but have since captivated hearts with phenomenal wines true to the unique and famed terroir of the Clare Valley. We look forward to tasting each new vintage of this amazing wine with what could only be described as 'alarming enthusiasm'. This is a wine that commands a sensational moment, although the argument could be had that this wine is what makes those moments sensational. Lemon-lime pithiness, refreshing mineral core, and a humming note of white blossoms and jasmine sing a beautiful harmony. If you’re looking for the best riesling of Clare, notice us gently nudge this one your way. Come be alarmingly enthusiastic with us!

1x Jeanneret Sevenhill Riesling 2024
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
One of our favourite rieslings from one of our favourite Clare producers. This spills over with citrusy goodness, both juicy and zesty. It's spent plenty of time on lees (over two months!), so this isn't some thin little number, but rather a textural wine that sits on the medium to full-bodied side of the riesling spectrum. And just like all good Clare riesling, it's ready to go today or will reward patience to the tune of a decade. Your wine! You choose how and when to drink it. We'll do the same with our case.
You’d pay $40 full price.

1x Patrick of Coonawarra Block 5 Aged Riesling 2017
White — Riesling
Coonawarra — Australia
Very few whites age more gracefully than riesling, with its naturally high acidity giving it the legs to run through the years. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on this ‘17 rizza, you’ll be dragged into an alternate reality, a world where limes rule supreme with the loyal support of honey and hay characters. Aromatics of freshly toasted bread and an abundance of lemon butter dance over the palate. This rizza will be so much fun to drink over the next several years as you notice these characteristics continue to develop. Fresh mussels will go down a treat with this number, although it’s stunning just as it is.
You’d pay $45 full price.

With cool summers and slow ripening periods, this Tasmanian riesling showcases the entire spectrum of flavours we have all come to know and love from the variety with excellent fruit purity and persistence. Throw in some vines that are up to 30 years old and some barrel maturation, you'll find yourself with a glass of wine disappearing quicker than the sun during a Tassie winter.
